Resveratrol Side Effects

What are the Resveratrol Side Effects?

When looking for information on Resveratrol, most people will also read up on the side effects of Resveratrol. Whether you are taking, or about to take, Resveratrol supplements or food sources, you will want to know if there are any side effects. Research into this that has been carried out on humans is very limited with official reports with scientific evidence being practically non existent.

Side Effects

It doesn’t matter what medication or supplement you take they all have benefits and of course they all have potential for bad side effects… as well as good side effects!

This would be particularly true if you are talking about recent supplements such as Resveratrol when they have not been tested extensively, or had long term studies on humans as many of the more well know supplements have.

Mind you, side effects are not all undesirable. Many supplements have side effects that actually turn out to be positive and may aid in health in ways that are unexpected from their original intention. For example, you may take a supplement for an unrelated health reason, and then find out that a side effect of it is that it helps you loose weight.

Personal Experiences

In relation to Resveratrol, most reports of any side effects appear to come from personal experiences rather than from scientific evidence or studies. It therefore makes any explanation of the benefits or Resveratrol side effects very difficult to analyse due to being limited to the practically non existent amount of available research.

Potential side effects reported from personal experiences (not backed up by scientific studies):

  • A decreased appetite and weight loss
  • A ‘buzzing’ kind of feeling, similar to that of caffeine
  • A slight numb feeling in your limbs when you initially start taking the supplement that appears to go after a few days
  • Diarrhea from lower quality supplements, more to do with the quality than the Resveratrol
  • High doses may increase arthritic occurrences or pain in joints. Be sure to consume the correct dosage.

This supplement seems to have shown evidence in personal use that it can help towards weight loss. However, this has not been proven scientifically as far as I can determine, the reports are from personal experiences.

Supplements

The preparation of supplements products is extremely important. It can mean the difference between buying something that will actually benefit your health, or buying a product that has been poorly produced and may even have a negative effect on your health. Always ensure you purchase your supplements from a recommended supplier and don’t always go for either the lowest price or the highest. High prices do not necessarily mean the product is good!
